Pastor Andy Plunk
Grace Baptist Church extended the call for their first pastor to Andy Plunk in April of 2005. Andy accepted the call and he, his wife, Marie, and their three children moved to Gilmer soon after.
Previously, Andy had served at Temple Baptist Church in Decatur, Illinois and then as Associate Pastor of Bandera Street Baptist Church in Houston, Texas for nine and a half years. During the years in Houston he had the privilege of working alongside his dad, Kenneth Plunk, who was pastor of Bandera Street Baptist Church. Andy mainly worked as the Music Director and Youth Pastor of grades 7th -12th grades while at Bandera.
Andy graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pastoral Ministry with a minor in Music. Andy married his wife, Marie, in 1991. She is also a graduate of Baptist Bible College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. Together they have been blessed with 3 fantastic children! They are Danielle, age 15, Megan, age 12, and Philip, age 7.
Andy has the desire for himself and the members of Grace to truly be people who are,”Loving God, Loving People.” His prayer is that members of Grace will grow in their spiritual maturity and faith as they walk with the Lord and that Grace will be effective in their outreach to the community of Gilmer and Upshur County. Along with enjoying the blessing of being the pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Andy enjoys spending time with his family, the occasional golf game, and is an avid Dallas Cowboys fan!

Youth Pastor Caleb York
Grace Baptist Church extended a call for a youth pastor to Caleb York in February of 2008. After accepting, Caleb finished his final semester of college and then proceeded to move to Gilmer along with his wife Amanda and son, Jack. Previously, Caleb was a member of Ignite Ministries, a ministry headed up by his father Evangelist Kent York, traveling with his family for four years. Through these travels he was able to visit several churches seeing God work throughout the states and overseas.
Caleb graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Pastoral Studies. Caleb and Amanda were married in June of 2007. Together they have two sons, Jack Woodrow, who celebrated his first birthday in December and Joshua Jacob who just arrived at the end of May. Caleb’s main goal for the youth ministry is to see God work in the lives of the teens of Upshur County. Through prayer, he asks for God to bring revival to teen hearts which in turn will bring God back into our schools and communities.
